Detailed design to measure the containment of upwelling points identified on the right abutment of the Laranjeiras Upstream Dam and correction of erosions arising from surface flows of rainwater

The Laranjeiras Upstream Dam is part of the Brucutu Mine tailings disposal system, which belongs to the Minas Centers Complex in the state of Minas Gerais. The works will be carried out for VALE SA, including the following activities:

• Identification of the geotechnical constraints that resulted in the occurrence of these surges with the definition of a containment measure and preparation of the respective detailed design;

• Definition of corrective measure for laminar erosions, with detailed design elaboration;

• Review of the “as built” of the instrumentation and the Dam Risk Chart;

• Meeting extra demands related to the Laranjeiras Dam (surface drainage, closing dam, instrumentation, surface drainage, etc.);

• Regular technical visits by a specialist geotechnician and preparation of technical reports.
