Basic Design of Xingó Channel – Stage I

The works will be developed for the São Francisco and Parnaíba River Valley Development Company – CODEVASF, with the main objective of expanding the supply of water to the semi-arid backlands of the state of Sergipe and part of the state of Bahia.

Stage I of the Xingó Channel project corresponds to the stretch from the water intake in the Paulo Afonso IV reservoir to kilometer 114.55 of its route, comprising the catchment work, followed by a tunnel, channel segments, aqueducts, control structures, water intakes, drainage system, road system and energy system, among other works. Engineering designs will be developed in order to optimize the layout of the pipeline system, as well as institutional articulations will be promoted and regional insertion studies will be developed.

The basic design will include, at least: topographic, pedological and geological/geotechnical studies; hydraulic transient studies; drainage and road system projects; hydromechanical and electrical projects; Special Works of Art projects, stabilization of massifs and expropriation; general budget of the work, and; work execution plan.
